Title: Quantum 2032 Challenge Scholarship

Youth athletes represent the future medal hopes for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. To help these young athletes reach their full sporting potential, it is essential to prioritise injury prevention. Our project aims to develop advanced semiconductor-based wearable sensors to measure forces and joint angles with ultrahigh sensitivity. This sensor technology will be applied during functional movement screening to quantify injury risks in pre-elite youth athletes.

We are offering a scholarship opportunity for a motivated PhD student to engage in this groundbreaking research.

Students with a background in mechanical, electrical/electronic, or biomedical engineering and experience in micro/nanotechnology, nanomaterials, semiconductors, and sensors are encouraged to apply.

Below is more information about this scholarship:

Value

 • Stipend (living allowance), valued at $37,000 per annum, tax free.

• Successful international applicants will receive tuition fees for a period of 6 semesters, full-time equivalent, paid by the UniSQ.

• The maximum period of the award is three years. Periods of study already undertaken towards the program will be deducted from the period of tenure

 Eligibility

 To be eligible applicants must:

• a Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours or Second Class Honours (Division A) at an Australian University, or equivalent level;

• be eligible to be enrolled full-time on-campus in the PhD program at UniSQ; 

• be an international student, or an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident;
